1.
Procedures of Teaching
The procedure of teaching is carried out in
accordance with the lesson plan that has been done. The topics I brought out
were Bond length, Bond order and Bond strength. I used the games competition
method where they were divided into several groups and then they were given a
little time to do the questions, the group that had the right and accurate
answers became the winner. The fact that proves that competition in learning
makes children's memory longer (long term memory) and also they are encouraged
to know more.
2. Time
Management and Organizing Activities
In teaching the topic of Bond length, Bond strength
and Bond order I was given 1x40 minutes, so I allocated 7 minutes for
introduction (greating, reflection, and motivation), Activity research core for
30 minutes that gave some new vocabulary, giving key concept, explaining ,
asking and make a games competition, and closing with a 3 minutes closing that
requires students to conclude learning outcomes.
3. Problem-Solving
The
problem that I found when teaching was the language barrier. Their
understanding of English is so weak that I demand to speak in Thai as I can.
This obstacle is also an opportunity between me and students to recognize
deeper languages, I learn Thai and students learn English. When I ask, they
actually understand the answer but don't know how to manage the words in
English, moreover their lack of confidence. So my job as a teacher is to
improve their confidence. Their accents in English are so different that it
requires me to adapt more. So often I repeat the command sentence two to three
times. I overcome these constraints by frequently interacting with students
using body language at once.
4. Classroom
Management
There is little difficulty in teaching them the
concept of chemistry, the difference in symbols and also the pronunciation of
terms makes them long understand. Not to mention that when I taught in grade
10/5 this demanded me to carry out various methods such as playing training and
simplifying concepts. Teaching in grades 10/1 and 10/5 is very different
because they have different levels of understanding.
