CHAPTER 3 (TEACHING PLAN)



1.      Curriculum
Curriculum used in general classes of this school is Base Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (A.D. 2008) by Thailand’s Minister of Education, which is the outcomes of the studies revealed problems and issues from shortcoming of the 2001 Curriculum. While, students in Smart Classes have some additional material topics for every subject which is related to the STEAM curriculum integrated with 21st century skills. STEAM is an educational approach to learning used Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.
2.      Teaching Plan of Chemistry
The teacher will adjust the lesson plan based on the curriculum guide from the government used learner’s key competencies and desirable characteristics then also will adjust to the syllabus made by the school. There are 16 components of the lesson plan in Thai those are identity, learning outcome, learning objective (knowledge, process, and attitude), key’s concept of teaching material, content of teaching, learner’s key competencies, desirable characteristics, 21st century skills, kind of assignment, learning measurement and assessment, learning method, learning activity, teaching materials and media or learning resources, and reflection.
Learning objective is seen from the curriculum published by the Ministry of Education in Thailand that is adapted to the topics and teaching methods that the teacher will apply. Especially the teaching plan for Chemistry, the teacher must manage learning as well as possible in a short amount of time which is 40 minutes. All the time in learning both in class, practicum or exam is the same.
